I’m thankful now that God did not give animals much intelligence. One species of life dominated by sin is enough. I don’t know, maybe we are on our way for historians to write crazy things about humanity once again.
Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth…The Lord was sorry that He had made man…The Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created…But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
Now there was a herd of many swine feeding there on the mountain; and the demons implored Him to permit them to enter the swine. And He gave them permission. And the demons came out of the man and entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
It is interesting that the demons negotiated with Jesus to let them abandon their proper abode instead of face what they feared at the moment – that Jesus’ first appearance on the planet was His last appearance and thus their final sentence and condemnation was upon them.
Think of it; they sought to abandon their proper abode. What hellishness it must be to live life in rebellion to the One who created you. I thank God I heard the message He preached when life for me in my proper abode became meaningless. He removed that heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh that I might live once again.
So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. “All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
Have you taken Him up on His promise?
