With COVID disrupting the three races I use to motivate myself to stay in shape, I’ve come up with a work around. I am going to stretch myself a little this year and chart a virtual run back to my home town of McClure, Ohio to the house I grew up in.
This will be a 1489 mile journey and I hope to complete it in 365 days. I believe this will be the farthest I have run in a year. I need to average a little over 4 miles per day. For me this will be difficult but, it will all be down hill right? I will run my work out and then map that distance toward my destination.
Up the Sandi Mountain
I’m moving out of the city into the mountain. My guess is 6-8 miles to the peak from here.
The key problem is that no one in the Ruling Class has an interest in stopping social collapse.
The path to power is seeking out things to be offended by and using state and media power to punish foes.
if you subsidize grievances, you’ll get more of it, until we get to the point where the system can no longer function.
When China is pursuing greatness while post-America is pursuing “equity,” it’s easy to see how this is all going to end
My view: what America needs is not extreme or unpopular. It involves abolishing racial distinctions in law, enforcing immigration control, establishing English as the official language, and giving ordinary Americans a stake in the social order by rebuilding the middle class with populist economic policies. Most of all, the government would need to stop incentivizing racial grievances politics. It doesn’t sound like much, but even as I write it, I know no Republican who would do it. Rather than trying to escape to civic nationalism, we have to figure out how to survive in a world defined by identity politics, rather than pretending it doesn’t exist [Dangerous Escapism, TheZMan, December 23, 2020].
Our job is to build a place of safety, physically, economically, and intellectually, for Americans who have been dispossessed from their birthright.
It seems more and more likely that what we need to do is let the current virus in our country run its course. It will not be easy, but probably will be the quickest way to see a healthier nation again.
We need to wake every morning with the courage of this boy.
The article above is a semi-encouraging read. These attempts to control in the manner the establishment is delivering ultimately fail. Leadership is not immune to stupidity. If you are stupid and want to rule a country you can try. But that will never make you smart or wise.
Who said, “Let us possess for ourselves The pastures of God.” Psalms 83:12
After describing and naming their enemies (Psalm 83:2-5) this statement indicates they were also acquainted with their motives. To know well your enemy means you can pray well against them. And again it is God they are after (the pastures of God) and it is God’s way the Psalmist seeks to protect and establish. This is God’s battle and not some personal vendetta.
Is the evil you protest against directed at you or God? And when it is directed at you can you say, “They’re attacking Your property, Lord?” Perspective is important.
The following is taken directly from The Treasury of David by Spurgeon.
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. Viewing the temple, and also the dwellings of the tribes, as all belonging to God, these greedy plunderers determined to push out the inhabitants, slay them, and become themselves landlords and tenants of the whole. These were large words and dark designs, but God could bring them all to nothing. It is in vain for men to say “Let us take,” if God does not give. He who robs God’s house will find that he has a property reeking with a curse; it will plague him and his seed for ever. “Will a man rob God?” Let him try it, and he will find it hot and heavy work.
