WHERE WOULD
JESUS BANK?

Jesus acted with ferocious and bold integrity
when he threw the money changers out of the temple.
Needless to say, he hiccuped their cash flows on what
otherwise would have been a big grossing day. Their
business model threatened, the priests who managed the money
changers insisted that the Romans crucify Jesus. The Romans
tried to pawn the problem off on the local king, Herod, who
ducked and sent Jesus back to the Romans. The Romans, still
looking for a way out, tried a flogging. That did not work.
The priests meanwhile had succeeded in persuading the crowd
to support them and scapegoat Jesus. Thirsting for a
crucifixion, the crowd voted to set the criminal Barabbas
free instead of Jesus.
Jesus died because the crowd voted
for the criminal enterprise. The crowd voted for the priests
and their rich endowments and their alliance with the money
changers.

Geronimo’s family call on Bush to help return his skeleton

The great grandson of the Apache leader Geronimo has appealed to the big chief in the White House to help recover the remains of his famous relative – purportedly stolen more than 90 years ago by a group of students – including the President’s grandfather.
The students – among them, Mr Bush’s grandfather Prescott – apparently returned with the remains and kept them in their society’s headquarters at the university in New Haven, Connecticut. The society’s initiation rite reportedly involves kissing a skull, referred to as “Geronimo”, usually held in a glass case.
The letter from society member Winter Mead to fellow member F Trubee Davison, made public earlier this month, said: “The skull of the worthy Geronimo the Terrible, exhumed from its tomb at Fort Sill by your club… is now safe inside the [tomb] together with his well worn femurs, bit and saddle horn.”

Switzerland
has not been in a foreign war of any kind since 1815.
In addition
to the encircling foreign marauders, Switzerland itself is composed
of four different ethnic groups (German, French, Italian, Romansh)
that get along as well as, e.g., Germans and French. They don’t
even speak the same language.
Yet the Swiss
peace prevails through the centuries. The Kaiser didn’t attack the
Swiss. Hitler didn’t attack the Swiss (though he thought about it
a lot). Stalin started to pursue some refugees into Liechtenstein
at the end of WWII, but retreated rather than face the Swiss-Liechtenstein
alliance. Terrorists don’t attack the Swiss.
Nobody attacks
the Swiss. Not even the Swiss attack the Swiss; their crime rate
is minuscule.
The features
of the Swiss system for keeping the peace are simple. They have
a president with no power to declare war
strict gun control. By
which they mean that every Swiss male must have a gun, except for
those who also have to carry a missile launcher or a mortar

Often when I feel the forces of evil take over the world and have no where to turn I find hope in these enduring words.  What we cannot seem to do – stem evil – God will one day accomplish.

Ps 96:10-13

10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns;
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will judge the peoples with equity.”
11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
Let the sea roar, and all it contains;
12 Let the field exult, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 Before the Lord, for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
And the peoples in His faithfulness.

Olson reported that his wife had “called him twice on a cell phone from American Airlines Flight 77,” saying that “all passengers and flight personnel, including the pilots, were herded to the back of the plane by armed hijackers. The only weapons she mentioned were knives and cardboard cutters.”2
